I’m just going to go ahead and start this blog by saying it is one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! Morgan and Blake are an absolute joy to be around and they aren’t afraid to go on an adventure. The pair wanted their session to take place at the WaterFalls in North Georgia, and their photos couldn’t have turned out better. Check out this stunning North Georgia Engagement Session!
North Georgia Engagement Session
I live for the North Georgia’s scenic mountains and greenery! Although I do love a city-vibe photoshoot, nothing compares to the getting away to a secluded waterfall. We spent tons of time laughing as we walked to the location, and once there the pair’s infectious personalities made for stellar images. Being in front of the camera is hard, but these two made it look easy! We spent a lot of time at the bottom of the falls, climbing on rocks. And the two were impeccably dressed, with Morgan in a flowing gown and Blake in a casual suit that matched perfectly. The rest of the time was spent shooting in other greenspaces, lush with greenery and spring flowers. A sweet little trellis and swing made for extra romantic, almost ethereal, images. The pair will officially tie the knot in February of 2023, so stay tuned to see the details.
How did you meet?
We met on Tinder back in October and neither of us expected to find anyone worthwhile on the app. For our first date, Blake invited me over for homemade lasagna and to watch the Braves game. It was such a laid back night and I had never felt so comfortable with someone so quickly. After the second time hanging out I called my best friend and told her that if he wasn’t the one, I was done with dating. Blake told me he called his best friend not long after that and said that I was the one.
Not to sound cheesy, but it was basically love at first sight and we never looked back.
Tell me about the proposal!
I was completely surprised! Blake asked me if I wanted to go on a hike as our Valentine’s date instead of doing a fancy dinner which I was TOTALLY down for! It then became a double date with his best friend and his wife, which again I was down for. We went on the hike to Cloudland Canyon and set out on the trail for Cherokee Falls. Blake wanted us to “take pictures looking at the waterfall” out on a rock so we walked out to the rock and popped the question. I was further surprised by both of our families and others we love waiting for us back at my mom’s house for an engagement party. It was a perfect day even with the freezing cold weather.
What are your favorite weekend activities? What are some of your favorite dates you’ve had together?
One of my favorite things we have done together wasn’t necessarily a ‘date’ but a weekend trip. We drove 9 hours to Roanoke Island in North Carolina. We stayed in the cutest bed and breakfast and ate lots of good food and explored the town. Most weekends you can find us either hosting friends for wine and dinner, grabbing Mexican or Chinese take out, or having lazy days just snuggling the dogs and binge watching a show. Weeknights are typically low key. We eat dinner at home talking about decisions for the house we are currently renovating while watching Hometown or Fixer Upper.
