Historic Georgia Wedding Video | The Mill at Yellow River | Catherine + David

A long-awaited celebration, it was an honor to film Catherine and David’s wedding at The Mill at Yellow River. Originally scheduled for April 23, 2020, their plans were halted by COVID. Although they first said “I do” on the beach, they later hosted this beautiful event to celebrate with their family and friends. This historic Georgia wedding was full of heartfelt moments, elegant details, and a touch of summer rain. Keep reading to experience the magic of their special day!

Getting Ready at The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast

Catherine and David began their wedding day at The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast—the inspiration for the iconic Twelve Oaks in Gone With the Wind. This historic venue provided a stunning backdrop for their wedding preparations. The lush manicured lawns, towering oak trees, and timeless architecture made for the perfect setting.

Their first look took place in front of the main house, where Catherine looked breathtaking in her sophisticated fit-and-flare gown. David complemented her elegance in a sleek navy tux with a blush bow tie. The wedding party looked equally stunning, with groomsmen in grey suits and bridesmaids in mismatched dresses ranging from light pink to mauve. Thanks to a drone, we captured breathtaking footage of the entire wedding party on the multiple stories of the venue.

A Rainy Yet Beautiful Ceremony at The Mill at Yellow River

The celebration continued at The Mill at Yellow River, a chic industrial venue full of character. The couple initially planned for an outdoor ceremony, but a summer downpour had other plans. With quick adjustments from their incredible staff, family, and friends, the ceremony moved indoors. The setting turned out to be just as beautiful, with a wooden arbor draped in greenery and a bright white tapestry adding contrast to the venue’s warm brick walls.

Despite the unexpected rain, the vows were emotional and heartfelt. The love between Catherine and David was evident, and every guest felt the depth of their journey together.

A Chic Industrial Reception Overlooking the Falls

The Mill at Yellow River seamlessly transitioned from ceremony to reception, offering a warm yet modern space for celebration. The round tables, draped in white linens, were adorned with simple yet elegant floral arrangements of white blooms and fresh greenery. This timeless decor mirrored the beauty of Catherine’s bridal bouquet.

From their romantic first dance to the cake cutting, every moment was filled with love and joy. Between events, we took full advantage of the venue’s expansive layout—including its stunning balcony overlooking the roaring falls of the Yellow River. These cinematic shots brought their wedding film to life, showcasing both the romance of the couple and the beauty of their venue.

Capturing the Essence of a Historic Georgia Wedding

Catherine and David’s wedding video perfectly reflects the love, resilience, and elegance of their journey. Despite the challenges they faced, they created a wedding day filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
